Our approach

We don't direct your wedding.
We witness it.

Rahao means to stay — to linger — to be fully present. It's the philosophy behind every film we make. We move quietly through your day, watching for the moments that would otherwise disappear: the whisper before the baraat, the grandmother's hands during the pheras, the exhale after the vows.

Every wedding is a document of a family at a turning point. We treat it as such.

"We stay until the last aunty dances.
Until the groom wipes his eyes
thinking no one is watching.
We are always watching."

— Rahao Collective

South Asian weddings are not single events. They are seasons — built over days and generations. Our films are structured to honour that depth. We don't treat the ceremony as the film's climax. We treat the entire family as the subject.

Our editing philosophy draws from documentary cinema: chronological when it serves clarity, non-linear when emotion demands it. We score to Punjabi folk, Sufi devotionals, and contemporary scores in equal measure — always letting the feeling lead the frame.

We are based in Punjab and travel across India and internationally for the right project.

& the Collective

Rahao Collective was founded in May 2026 with a single conviction: that the best wedding films are the ones where the couple forgets the camera exists.

We work in small teams — never crowds. Our approach is observational and quiet. We ask questions before we shoot, and we listen carefully to the answers.

The Collective brings together filmmakers, colourists, and editors who share this philosophy. Every film is a collaboration — but every film has a lead eye behind it.
